The Indian Navy has released the Indian Navy Agniveer Recruitment 2026 Notification inviting online applications for Agniveer (SSR), Agniveer (MR), and SSR (Medical Branch) Recruitment through Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2026. Indian Navy Agniveer Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates applying for Indian Navy Recruitment 2026 must satisfy the educational qualification, age limit, and other eligibility conditions mentioned below.

A) Educational Qualification for Indian Navy Agniveer Recruitment 2026

  • Agniveer (SSR):
    • 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics and minimum 50% marks, OR
    • 3-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation/IT) with 50% marks, OR
    • 2-year Vocational Course with Physics & Mathematics with 50% marks.
  • Agniveer (MR):
    • Passed Matriculation (Class 10th) with minimum 50% marks.
  • SSR (Medical):
    • 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) with 50% aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject

Indian Navy Agniveer Selection Process – Step by Step

Indian Navy Agniveer Selection Process is conducted in two main stages:

  1. Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test 2026)
  2. Stage II – Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medicals

Additionally, there are shortlisting rules, merit list preparation, and pre-enrolment medicals before final induction.

1. Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)

  • Mode: Computer-based online exam.
  • Type: Objective (Multiple Choice), bilingual (Hindi & English).
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Exam Pattern (Post-wise):
  • Agniveer (SSR): 100 questions (English, Science, Mathematics, General Awareness), 1 hour, 10+2 standard.
  • Agniveer (MR): 50 questions (Science & Mathematics, General Awareness), 30 minutes, 10th standard.
  • SSR (Medical): 100 questions (English, Science, Biology, General Awareness), 1 hour, 10+2 standard.

Candidates must pass in all sections as well as in aggregate.

2. Stage I Results & Shortlisting

  • Results (Pass/Fail + Marks) uploaded on candidate’s dashboard.
  • Shortlisting is state-wise (for SSR & SSR Medical) and all-India (for MR).
  • Cut-off marks vary state to state.
  • If candidates have the same percentage, Date of Birth (earlier DOB gets preference) is used for tie-breaking.

3. Sponsor Candidates & NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders

  • Such candidates upload certificates during Stage I application.
  • Verified candidates are exempted from INET and directly issued call-up letters for Stage II.
  • Certificates are verified at every stage; discrepancies lead to cancellation.

4. Stage II – Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Qualifying in PFT is mandatory. Standards differ for male and female candidates (except SSR Medical which is male-only).

5. Stage II – Written Examination

Conducted only for candidates who qualify PFT.

  • Agniveer (SSR): 100 questions, 1 hour, subjects same as INET.
  • Agniveer (MR): 50 questions, 30 minutes, subjects same as INET.
  • SSR (Medical): 100 questions, 1 hour, subjects same as INET.

Candidates must qualify in all sections and aggregate.

6. Recruitment Medical Examination

  • Conducted for candidates who qualify PFT.
  • Medicals done at designated Military Hospitals only.
  • Candidates found unfit can appeal within 5 days at designated hospitals.
  • No further appeal allowed.

7. Provisional Select List

  • Prepared based on Stage II Written Exam performance, subject to PFT and Medical qualification.
  • SSR & SSR Medical: Merit list prepared state-wise.
  • MR: Merit list prepared on all-India basis.
  • Results published on candidate’s dashboard.

8. Pre-Enrolment Medicals

  • Conducted at INS Chilka before induction.
  • Only candidates who qualify pre-enrolment medicals are inducted.
  • Those failing are rejected.

9. Final Induction & Training

  • Agniveer SSR/MR 01/2027: Training starts Dec 2026 at INS Chilka.
  • Agniveer SSR/MR 02/2027 & SSR Medical: Training starts May 2027 at INS Chilka
