Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army NCC Special Entry Scheme
For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders
1. Educational Qualification:
- Graduate Degree from a recognized University
- Final year students are also eligible to apply provided they complete and obtain graduation degree before commencement of course (October 2026)
- For final year students, aggregate marks scored in first two/three years of three/four year degree course will be considered for shortlisting
2. NCC Service Requirements:
- Should have served for minimum two/three years (as applicable) in Senior Division/Wing of NCC
3. NCC Grading Requirement:
- Should have obtained minimum of ‘B’ Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC
- Applicants not holding NCC ‘C’ Certificate or Provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate on date of application are NOT eligible
- Candidates holding Provisional NCC Certificate on date of application must obtain NCC ‘C’ Certificate before appearing in SSB
- PROVISIONAL NCC ‘C’ CERTIFICATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT SSB
For Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army Personnel
1. Educational Qualification:
- Graduate Degree from a recognized University
- Final year students eligible (same conditions as above)
2. NCC Certificate:
- NOT Required for Wards of Battle Casualties
3. Eligibility Criteria for Battle Casualties:
Wards (unmarried sons and unmarried daughters including legally adopted) of Army Battle casualties specified as:
- Killed in action
- Died of wounds or injuries (other than self-inflicted)
- Wounded or injured (other than self-inflicted)
- Missing, presumed dead
4. Required Documents:
- Battle Casualty Certificate Number issued by Manpower Policy Planning Directorate (MP Dte)
- Note: For casualties prior to Sep 2013, certificate from respective Record Offices is valid
- For casualties since Sep 2013, certificate should be from Adjutant General’s Branch Manpower Policy Planning-5D
- Copy of MP Dte/Respective Regimental Records Part II Order Number notifying injuries and classification as Battle Casualty
- Relationship Certificate Number issued by MP Dte/Respective Regimental Records

- Minimum: 19 years
- Maximum: 25 years
Date of Birth:
- Born not earlier than 02 July 2001

Selection Process for Indian Army NCC Special Entry Scheme 124th Course
The selection process consists of the following stages:
1. Shortlisting of Applications
Shortlisting for SSB is based on award of bonus marks out of maximum 100 marks for:
- Performance in NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Max 50 marks)
- Performance in Graduation (Max 50 marks)
Bonus Marks for NCC ‘C’ Certificate Performance
- ‘A’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 50 Marks
- ‘B’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 25 Marks

2. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview
- SSB Centres: Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Jalandhar (Punjab)
- Duration: Maximum 5 days

Selection of SSB Centre and Date: After shortlisting, candidates must log in and select SSB Centre and date on first-come-first-serve basis. SSB Centre and Date once selected will not be changed later.
Two-Stage Selection Procedure:

3. Medical Examination
- Conducted for candidates recommended after Stage II of SSB
- Medical standards available on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
- Validity: 270 days (SMB to PCTA joining date)
- Candidates declared Med FIT in any previous SSB (any service) need not undergo medical again if validity period (270 days) is not expired
- Medical Board proceedings are confidential
4. Merit List
- Prepared based on marks obtained at SSB interview
- Mere qualifying at SSB does not confirm final selection
- Tie-breaker criteria:
- If equal SSB marks: Older candidate ranked higher
- If both SSB marks and age same: Candidate with higher percentage in qualifying exam ranked higher
- Higher educational qualifications, previous performances, etc. have no role to play
5. Joining Letter
- Candidates recommended by SSB and declared medically fit will be issued joining letter in order of merit
- Subject to number of available vacancies and meeting all eligibility criteria
