India Post GDS Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates should carefully check the educational qualification, local-language requirement, age limit and other qualifications before applying online.
A) Educational Qualification
The candidate must possess a Secondary School Examination (SSE) pass certificate of 10th standard from a recognised Board of School Education conducted by the Government of India, State Governments or Union Territories.
The candidate must have passing marks in Mathematics and English. Candidates having an equivalent qualification from another board are not eligible for GDS engagement.
In addition to the 10th qualification, the applicant must have studied the prescribed local language up to at least the 10th standard from a recognised board.

India Post GDS Exam Pattern 2026
There is no written examination/CBT exam pattern. Selection is based on a system-generated merit list prepared from Class 10 marks or the prescribed conversion of grades and points.
