Assam ITI Admission 2026: Assam’s Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training (DECT) administers admissions to Industrial Training Institutes throughout the state. Students seeking vocational training can apply through DECT for admission to Assam’s government and private ITI colleges.

DECT, Assam, has released the admission notice for the 2026-27 academic session. Eligible individuals can apply online for several trade programs at Assam’s government and private ITIs. The admittance applies to NCVT, SCVT, CoE, and IMC trades under the Craftsman Training Scheme. There is no separate entry exam; rather, selection is based on merit through an e-counselling process.

Assam ITI Admission Process

The admission process to various ITIs in Assam consists of the following stages.

Step 1: After registration, all candidates must report to their nearest government ITI with all original documents, certificates, and so on, on the designated date and time for verification of their registration information.

Step 2: Candidates should be aware that, upon successful verification, they may select their preferred trades and ITIs in order to participate in the allotment process.

Step 3: Given applicants must take admission in their given seats; else, their nomination will be invalidated.

Step 4: Candidates who pass the NCVT trades will receive NCVT certificates, while those who pass the SCVT trades will receive SCVT certificates.

Counseling for ITI Admission

After registration, all candidates must report to their nearest government ITI with all original documents, certificates, and so on, on the designated date and time, for verification of their registration information. Next, the candidate has to fill his choices & save his choice within the stipulated time period as declared by the DE&CT Assam in counselling schedule.

After the option filling process is completed, all filled-in choices from all registered candidates will be evaluated for seat allocation based on merit (rank) and category. The allotment will be made against one seat, and it is strictly temporary.

The counselling process will be online only.

ITI Assam Admission Fee

To be admitted to different Assam ITIs, candidates must pay an admission fee. The following are the entry costs set for the current academic term.

NCVT & SCVT Trades

  • Tuition Fees (Rs.50/- per month): Rs.600/- (for 1 year) | Rs.1200/- (for two years)
  • Caution Money (Refundable): Rs.250/-
  • Registration Fees: Rs.25/-
  • Medical Examination, Fees: Rs. 25/-
  • Trainees Union Fees: For 1 year Rs.175/- & For 2 years Rs.350/-
  • Hostel Service Charge: Rs.50/- (where applicable)
  • Hostel Caution Money (Refundable): Rs.250/ (where applicable)

For BPL Candidates, the payment of Tuition fees is waived off, except SCVT under IMC courses.

SCVT under IMC Courses

  • For Non Engineering course: Rs.15,000/- per year
  • For Engineering course:  Rs.16,500/- (for one year) & Rs.33,000/- (for two years)
